Introduction

StudioBaran ("we," "our," or "us") operates the VentureJournal mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

Information We Collect

Location Data

• What: VentureJournal collects your GPS location data in the background to create a timeline of your day.
• How: Location data is collected continuously while the App is running, including when in the background.
• Why: To generate location-based stories and provide you with insights about your daily movements.
• Storage: All location data is stored locally on your device only. We do not transmit, store, or access your location data on our servers.

Notes and Journal Entries

• What: Any notes, reflections, or journal entries you create within the App.
• Storage: All notes are stored locally on your device only. We do not access, transmit, or store your personal writing.

AI-Generated Stories

• What: When you generate a story, your location data and notes are sent to Google's Gemini API to create personalized narratives.
• How: We send anonymized location information (place names and What3Words addresses) along with any notes you've written.
• Third Party: Google's Gemini API processes this data according to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Storage: Generated stories are stored locally on your device only.

In-App Purchases

• What: Purchase history for genre unlocks.
• How: Managed by Apple's App Store. We only store a record of which genres you've unlocked, stored locally on your device.
• Third Party: Purchase transactions are handled by Apple according to Apple's Privacy Policy.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do NOT collect or store your location data on our servers
• We do NOT sell your data to third parties
• We do NOT use tracking or advertising SDKs
• We do NOT create user accounts or require login
• We do NOT access your contacts, photos, or other personal information beyond location

Data Storage and Security

• All data is stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage (SQLite database)
• Your data is not backed up to our servers - if you delete the App, your data is permanently deleted
• iCloud Backup: If you have iCloud backup enabled, your local data may be included in your iCloud backups (managed by Apple)

Third-Party Services

Google Gemini API

When you generate a story, we send your location data and notes to Google's Gemini API. This data is:

• Sent over an encrypted connection
• Processed according to Google's privacy policy
• Not stored by us after the story is generated

Nominatim (OpenStreetMap)

We use Nominatim reverse geocoding to convert GPS coordinates to place names. This service:

• Receives latitude/longitude coordinates only (no personal identifiers)
• Operates according to OpenStreetMap's Privacy Policy

What3Words

We use What3Words to convert GPS coordinates to three-word addresses for creative story generation. This service:

• Receives latitude/longitude coordinates only (no personal identifiers)
• Operates according to What3Words' Privacy Policy

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: All your data is accessible within the App
• Delete: You can delete individual entries or uninstall the App to delete all data
• Export: Use the share feature to export individual stories
• Opt-Out: You can disable location tracking in iOS Settings → VentureJournal → Location

Children's Privacy

VentureJournal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.

Data Deletion

To delete all your VentureJournal data:

1. Open iOS Settings
2. Go to VentureJournal
3. Tap "Delete All Data" (if available)
4. Or uninstall the App to permanently delete all local data

Summary: VentureJournal stores all your data locally on your device. We only send anonymized location data to Google's Gemini API when you choose to generate a story. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal information.
